We were in Jasper the first week of August. I was disappointed when Parks Canada in Jasper informed us that the road to Maligne Lake and Medicine Lake was closed due to rock slides. By the time I left Jasper (August 10, the road was still closed) . So we visited Maligne Canyon, Cavell Mountain, and the Valley of Five Lakes instead. The Angel Glacier on Cavell Mountain and the icy lake below are beautiful and the nearby trail is very interesting and thought-provoking. It makes you think about issue such as global warming and realize that our lives in this world are so short, just a blink of an eye compared to the existence of the surrounding mountains. Thanks for sharing your Maligne Lake photos, which are beautiful. Thanks!

lums你好，原来我们曾经擦肩而过、我们是8月5日进入jasper，8月6号玩了全天-先进入Maligne Canyon、然后 Medicine Lake-又称‘消失湖’（是湖水最满的时候-往年上山迟些只有三分二湖水） 、再上Maligne Lake 、沿途遇到了黑熊、山羊、鹿等动物，也就是当天把车留在Maligne Lake 停车场、当晚就是风雨雷电交加导致此路山崩（13个地方）， 9号由公园管理人员开车护送大约20人前往Maligne Lake 的不同地方和停车场取回车辆、由他们带路落山，被困的日子我们也到了Valley of Five Lakes 、还有非常漂亮的pyramind lake，还参加了导游公司活动，既烦恼也有收获。10号检查车辆无事立即下山去了Edmonton、、、感谢你分享。

A few hours after I arrived in Jasper in the early evening on the 8th of August , it started to shower heavily and thunder loudly. During the rain, I wen to the Jasper Cantonese (run by a Korean) for dinner. The next morning I hiked to the Valley of Five Lakes and along the way we did meet two groups of Cantonese. The mosquitoes were hungry and fearless near the Lakes but the hike was worthwhile.

原来 Cantonese餐馆换老板了 、、、我们行完 Five Lakes那些蚊子也很开心-累我们周身痒那天天气很热、我其中一个儿子之前扭伤了脚、用杖子扶持只能行了一半路，那些高低非常大的山吭难爬、我唯有陪他慢慢回头了-所以蚊子大饱肚子
